Volunteer FAQs

How do you apply to register to volunteer at CHealthWorld?

You can register to volunteer at CHealthWorld here.

Who is eligible to volunteer at CHealthWorld?

Our volunteers must have a conversational level of English and must be 18 years old or older at the time of the event.

We ask that our volunteers are polite, courteous, punctual and committed to contributing to the success of CHealthWorld.

We welcome applications from people from across the world and are looking forward to working with a diverse, ambitious group of volunteers.

All applications will be screened by our Volunteer Team to ensure the CHealthWorld volunteers fulfil our criteria.

Will CHealthWorld cover my costs?

CHealthWorld does not cover volunteers’ travel or accommodation costs. Volunteers will receive a lunch pack on the days of their shift and lunch breaks are included for each person while scheduled.

How many shifts do I have to complete?

Volunteers will complete no more than 3 shifts across the days of the event, including the pre-event days. The number of shifts you complete, their times, and their length depends on your team assignment and your availability. Everyone will be scheduled a lunch break along with shorter breaks throughout their shift where possible.

What teams can I volunteer with at CHealthWorld?

Volunteers will help our CHealthWorld team across all areas of the event including our Operations, Registration, Stages and more. Volunteers will be assigned to one team for all of their shifts.

Do I need to purchase a ticket?

No. You will be free to enjoy everything else that CHealthWorld offers based on completion of your assigned shifts. However, if you fail to complete, arrive late or leave early for any of your volunteer shifts, you will no longer be entitled to attend the rest of CHealthWorld.

Will I receive training before my first shift?

We will provide volunteers with a briefing to run through the CHealthWorld Volunteer Programme, their volunteer roles and answer any questions. Date and location are to be confirmed.

When do applications close?

Volunteer positions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Once applications are open here, you can register your interest to volunteer at Web Summit. Please note that registering does not guarantee your volunteer position.

If I need a visa to volunteer at CHealthWorld, will you help with my visa application?

While we will not engage directly with your relevant embassy, we can supply you with a letter confirming you will be volunteering at CHealthWorld to support your application. Please email us a picture of your passport details to include in your visa letter.

For further information about obtaining a visa, please visit the Foreign Affairs Office website.
